Following a visit from an Italian delegation last July, it was our turn to travel to Verbania, Italy to meet a delegation from the Region Piemonte in order to set the basis of a cooperation to develop a model of Industrial tourism with an EU Interreg project. Following the model existing in Torino, the local tourist authorities with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry would like to propose tours to local production sites, such as factories, manufactures, food processing plants, etc. This project is of interest to the State of Valais with visits to cheese factories, wineries, hydroelectric power plants and dams, high tech firms.
